I purchased your AUTOLINX travel-case in late June
this year and mounted it on my 2005 Honda Goldwing.
My 18 year old niece and I loaded up the bike and
the case (to the max) and left Virginia headed to
North Dakota to visit family. Of course, we had to
visit points of interest along the way so we ended up
taking the long route south then North.
We packed all of our camping equipment into the
case. (3 person Colman tent, 1 flashlight, 1 large
sleeping bag, two foam roll out cushions, 2 small
pillows and 2 pairs of sandles)
We mostly stayed at the KOA campgrounds along the
way out there and back but occasionally stayed at a
motel to get out of the rain.
Almost everytime we stopped for gas, an over nighter
or to take a break at a rest area, people were asking
us what that thing was on the back of the bike. This
always excited my niece because she loves to challenge
people. She always asked them what they thought it was
first. We lost count after about 40 because there were
so many inquiries. Some were fellow cyclists and
others were regular motorists.
This case saved us soooo much money. Initially I was
kind of hesitant to purchase it because I wasn't sure
how it was going to perform behind the bike. But I
must tell you that I didn't even feel it back there
the whole trip. Well, actually, there was a couple
times. Because of the low ground clearance under the
unit when mounted on the bike and the angle of some
drives in and out of gas stations etc.., we scraped
the bottom of the case.
er in....
We drove 2799 miles to ND and then 2378 miles back
to VA with the case on the bike. After we got home I
counted up the cost of our trip. I included the cost
of the Bushtec hitch I installed on the bike and your
case. I was shocked after doing the math. I compared
the cost of a new trailer instead of your case, motel
costs instead of camping, and gas for the pickup
rather than using the bike. All in all, the option of
utilizing your case far excedes savings on any other
options. Your case gave us the flexibility we needed
and provided a way for us to maximize savings and
increased our interaction with other motorists
(increasing our fun factor). I didn't have the anxiety
and worry like with pulling a trailer either. Anyone
who travels pulling a trailer knows what effect wind
and road conditions can have on driving enjoyment.
I am moving to southern California next month and
you can sure bet that I am going to use this case
every chance I get. It's safe, ecconomical and just
plain smart. Thanks again for providing a great
product! I will recommend it to everyone.
Very Sincerely,
Jerry Cook
P.S. I am sending two pictures. One is in Norfolk, VA
before we left on our trip and the other was taken
durring our trip in Memphis, TN. Sure looks great on
the bike!
